Tech School Evacuated for Odor, 9 Treated

Atlantic County Institute of Technology reopened after strange odor leaves 9 students sickened

Hazmat crews were called out to the Atlantic County Institute of Technology after a suspicious odor was reported coming from a bathroom at the Hamilton Township school.

The school was evacuated around 9:30 a.m.

Nine students were treated for asthma type symptoms, according to Hamilton Twp. police.

The injuries were considered minor, according to NBC40.

The school was reopened around 11 a.m., NBC40 reported.

The cause of the odor was under investigation.
