Service on Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor between New York and Philadelphia was mostly back to normal Wednesday night after it was disrupted by a deadly accident on the tracks in central New Jersey, Amtrak said.
But officials warned that some residual delays could continue through the evening commute.
The crash occurred shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday. It involved an unidentified trespasser who was struck by an Acela Express train just west of the Hamilton Township station in Mercer County.
None of the 170 passengers and crew aboard the train were hurt. It had departed from Boston and was headed to Washington.
