Amber Alert Cancelled, Father, Baby Found Safe

An Amber Alert has been cancelled after police say a baby who was taken by his father was found safe.

Police say Tomas Quiles, 19, assaulted his son’s mother at a bus stop on 33 Passaic Street in Passaic City, New Jersey. He then allegedly took his son, 1-year-old Tyrus Quiles, and fled on foot. Police also say he sent a text message threatening suicide.

According to officials, Tomas Quiles has a restraining order against him and does not have custody of his son.

Around 5:45 p.m., police announced that the Alert was canceled and that Tyron was found safe.

Police also say that Tomas was found unharmed. They have not yet revealed the specific charges against him.
