The Division of Public Health has announced the second flu death of the 2012-2013 flu season. The DPH reports a 79-year-old woman from Sussex County died from the flu. The patient had underlying health conditions, according to officials.

The announcement comes a day after the DPH reported the first flu death in Delaware this flu season. Officials announced on Tuesday that a 2-month-old girl from New Castle County had died. Officials did not say when the infant died.

Officials urge residents to take precautions to prevent the spread of the flu, and urge any resident over the age of 6 months who has not been vaccinated to get a flu shot.
