Subway Thief Jacks Bacon's BlackBerry

Ever had a personal item stolen in the subway station? If so, you're less than six degrees of separation away from Kevin Bacon.

Some thug lifted Bacon's BlackBerry in a New York City subway station on Thursday, according to The New York Post. Try as he might to hunt down the thief, Bacon wasn't quick enough. The robber got away and as of Saturday, cops still hadn't found him. Now the crook could be cozying up to the A-list celebrities likely inundating Bacon's contact list … scary.

The thief snatched Bacon's BlackBerry at about 10:50 a.m. at the B, D and E station at 53rd Street and Seventh Avenue, sources told the Post. The Hollywood star tried to dart after the mugger but lost him in the crowd.

This isn't the first time Bacon has been victimized by thieves. He and wife Kyra Sedgwick, whose number is most surely stored in the phone, were swindled by mastermind Ponzi-schemer Bernie Madoff. Madoff pleaded guilty in March to managing the $65 billion fraud that burned celebrities, charities and common citizens alike.

City transit authorities said Bacon didn't tell any subway workers about the theft, but sources told the Post Bacon called the police. Cops couldn't confirm a report was filed.

It's unlikely Bacon will see his precious BlackBerry again. Law-enforcement authorities say cell phones, which were targeted in more than a third of subway heists last year, are usually sold on the street right after being stolen or used by the thieves themselves, according to the Post.
