Sunday Talk Show Tip Sheet

After two years of nearly non-stop campaign Sundays, the final round of talk shows before Election Day is upon us.

But then, who’s counting.

This Sunday, NBC’s “Meet the Press” leads with a man who knows a thing or two about the frantic last days of a presidential race – Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.), the unsuccessful Democratic nominee in 2004.

Moderator Tom Brokaw also discusses the race with former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson, who’s supporting fellow Republican John McCain. And Brokaw looks forward to Tuesday’s elections in a roundtable discussion with The Washington Post’s David Broder, NPR’s Michele Norris and NBC’s David Gregory and Chuck Todd.

ABC’s “This Week” features interviews with two of the busiest men in the country right now – McCain campaign manager Rick Davis and Obama senior strategist David Axelrod.

Host George Stephanopoulos also breaks down the final week on the campaign trail in a roundtable with Time's Mark Halperin and ABC's Donna Brazile, Matthew Dowd and George Will.

And Axelrod pulls double Sunday duty, also appearing on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” where he’ll square off against McCain confidante Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).

Host Bob Schieffer also explores the possibility of a filibuster-proof, 60-seat Democratic majority in the Senate, with a debate between Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Ensign (R-Nev.).

The two have been battling each other now for almost two years. Will they play nice as the race heads down to the wire?

Davis also does double duty, stopping by “Fox News Sunday” to face off against Obama campaign manager David Plouffe.

After hearing from both campaigns, President Bush’s old political counselor Karl Rove will offer his latest analysis.

CNN’s “Late Edition” expands to a special three-hour edition Sunday, with all sorts of interviews with presidential surrogates.

For Obama, the senator from Illinois, there’ll be Sen. Robert P. Casey Jr. (D-Pa.) and Democratic Govs. Tim Kaine of Virginia and Deval Patrick of Massachusetts.

And for McCain, the senator from Arizona, there’ll be Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) and Republican Govs. Mark Sanford of South Carolina and Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota.

On Bloomberg’s "Political Capital,” host Al Hunt interviews retiring Rep. Tom Davis (R-Va.), who ran the National Republican Congressional Committee for several election cycles.

Finally, C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers” features representatives from a pair of powerful interest groups – Change to Win Executive Director Chris Chafe and William Miller of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

And…so you won’t miss a thing, or any of the football that follows, don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour Saturday night.
