Barack could soon give Tiger a run for his money.

The commander in chief picked up a putter and hit the greens Sunday for the first time since he took office, enjoying a balmy spring day in the nation's capital.

The President joined Commerce Secretary Gary Locke, U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk and presidential aide Marvin Nicholson at the Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, where the three were set to play 18 holes on the on-site course.

The avid athlete wore a baseball cap, sunglasses, a cream-colored polo shirt and khaki shorts, smiling and waving to onlookers as he rode in a golf cart around the base.

Obama returned this week from a trip to Mexico, the latest international stop for the jet-setting president.
