No Vick, DeSean, Shady or Asante Vs. Cowboys

The Eagles inactive list for the regular season finale against the Cowboys read more like their Pro-Bowl roster than the normal list of guys not suiting up as stars QB Michel Vick, RB LeSean McCoy, WR DeSean Jackson, CB Asante Samuel, T Winston Justice and DE Trent Cole will all be in street clothes.

Injured LB Stewart Bradley and injured DT Trevor Laws rounded out the Eagles inactive list.

Being able to treat the final Boys game as an exhibition match is thanks to the 10-5 Birds having clinched the No. 3 seed in the NFC playoffs by looking terrible in a loss to the Vikings Tuesday night after having clinched the division Sunday when the Giants lost.

Yes, Eagles fans would much rather see Vick and co. having something to play for this week -- like a first round bye – but being able to have the Eagles most important weapons – many of whom are dinged up including Vick – rest before what could be a Saturday playoff game makes sense. It's also reasonable to give guys like Cole and McCoy -- who have played many downs for the Birds this season -- a breather.

Coach Andy Reid's staff could also finally get a game-action look at guys like T Austin Howard, CB Brandon Hughes even possibly backup QB Mike Kafka who have all yet to play for the Eagles this season.

They can also see if late-season pickups like CB/KR Gerard Lawson, S Jamar Adams, DT Jeremy Clark and DE Bobby McCray could offer anything in the postseason.

While the Eagles turn to Kevin Kolb under center, the Cowboys will send out Stephen McGee for his first NFL start while Jon Kitna sits out.

Joining Kitna on the Dallas inactive list were T Alex Barron, T Jermey Parnell, G Phil Costa, WR Teddy Williams, DE Clifton Geathers, DB Andrew Sendejo and K Kris Brown.
