What Women Want

Most of us women have our share of issues when it comes to clear skin.

There are so many products out there that moisturize dry skin or keep oily skin drier -- it gives me a headache standing in the skin care aisle at CVS.

There are some simple steps we women can take to keep a fresh look though, like cleaning out our makeup bags.

To keep or not to keep? That is the question.

Women’s Health magazine published a timeline in their January/February 2009 issue to let us know when to "toss our beauty tools."

2 Weeks:

  • Razors (up to 20 uses)

3 Months:

  • Loofahs
  • Mascara

6 Months:

  • Depilatory (hair removal) creams
  • Eyeliner
  • Eye shadow
  • Facial moisturizer

9 Months:

  • Self tanners

12 Months:

  • Concealer
  • Nail polish
  • Sunscreen

2 Years:

  • Lip gloss

A Few Decades:

  • Hair dryers (toss when cord frays)

Never:

  • Makeup brushes
  • Hair brushes
  • Eyelash curler (with regular cleaning)

  • Susan Tuesday, Jan 6 at 2:11 PM FLAG COMMENT I think the title of this article is a little misleading. I was hoping to find some suggstions as replacements for a facial cleanser, toner and moisturizer Iuse which I just found out have discontinued by the manufacturer and instead I get a list of when to throw out products? Remember what you should have been taught in elementary school when writing reports - the title should tell the reader what the article is about.
