West Nile: 8 New Cases in Philly

Eight new cases of West Nile Virus confirmed Monday in the Philly metro area.

 

The West Nile Virus has sickened more 8 more people in the Philly Metro area.

Six of those new cases include people from Philadelphia County, one from Montgomery County and one from Chester County.

The PA West Nile Encephalitis Surveillance Program tracks cases.  West Nile virus is a mosquito-borne illness.

There are now 13 confirmed human cases of West Nile in Pennsylvania this year. No fatalities.

  • wheelerdealer Sunday, Nov 2 at 12:37 PM FLAG COMMENT Per Sam D'Amico's obituary in the Inquirer last week, it states the cause of death is west nile. The no fatality reported is incorrect
