While summer is typically associated with rest and relaxation, George and his production team have been working tirelessly to provide deserving families with some of our most ambitious home transformations yet.

New George to the Rescue episodes begin airing Saturday, September 15th (see below for regional scheduling info), and we're all excited to showcase beautiful work from our dedicated building and design teams.

For the fall premiere, we collaborated with GTTR veteran contractor Eamon Roche (Roundtable Builders) and designer Frances Herrera (Interiors By Francesca) to renovate a Brooklyn brownstone shared by two sisters named Vonnie and Velma. "V and V" are two of our most spirited rescuees ever, and you'll be equally amazed with the before and after.

Check out sneak peek footage from this episode's surprise here, and be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (george2rescue) for more GTTR news and behind the scenes content. We appreciate your social media engagement and continued support!

Havertown, PA - Mary Ann Zeserman's home is in desperate need of repair. Earlier this year, a drunk driver crashed through her living room and demolished an entire corner of her house. Mary Ann and her family have been living with the damage for several months, in what is both a dangerous and unfortunate situation.

However, the Zeserman's will not be forced to live in these poor conditions any longer as they recently received a surprise visit from the George to the Rescue team. The Zeserman's home is about to be rescued!

Catch the new episode this September on NBC. In the meantime, visit GeorgetotheRescue.com to watch past episodes. Be sure to follow @george2rescue on Twitter and like us on Facebook.

Compton, CA - We've found our vet.

With help from some incredible individuals and organizations, the George to the Rescue team is ready to transform the Compton, California home of Corporal Sherman Watson. Corporal Watson, a three-time Purple Heart recipient, is a proud husband and father of two. The humble hero was shocked when George surprised him with news of the rescue on Thursday evening.

After weeks of scouting stories throughout the country, we're thrilled to be participating in our first California project. We're especially excited to be working with inspirational veteran support groups like Got Your SixTeam Rubicon, and Vet Hunters Project.

It's time to bring the Rescue spirit to the West Coast!

Montclair, New Jersey - This week the George to the Rescue team has been hard at work rescuing the home of the Brashares family in the beautiful Garden State. Ben and Kate Brashares just welcomed a newborn baby boy into their family, and they could now use a little more space in their Victorian-style home. That’s where we come in to help them out. Kate works in the city for a non-profit organization, while Ben is a stay-at-home dad and writer who blogs about his life on TheSAHDLife.com. Ben’s blog is highly entertaining and a must-read, so go check it out!

<![CDATA[The Slezaks Overcome Hurricane Irene ]]> Thu, 26 Apr 2012 10:51:11 -0400 http://media.nbcphiladelphia.com/images/213*120/gttrboconcept.jpg

The destruction left in the wake of Hurricane Irene was never more prevalent than in Paterson, New Jersey. Namely the townhouse of Norman Slezak. Caring for his ailing elderly mother in his childhood home, Norman tenaciously stood his ground as flood waters crept closer and higher. Eventually, when the conditions became increasingly dire, local authorities intervened and forced Norman, his mother, and dog into a boat and to a safety zone.

The toll taken on the property was worse than originally thought—irreparable structural damage deemed the home all but worthless. To add insult to injury, as Norman transported and cared for his mother in a nursing home, his home was robbed, time and again, by looters capitalizing on the disaster. Sentimental items, valuables, and all of Norman's worldly possessions (save a few boxes) were either ruined from the flood or were in the hands of thieves.

With nowhere to go, Norman was invited into the home of his loving daughter, Kim Slezak. Living in a modest condo with her boyfriend, space is at a premium and quarters for an additional occupant are minimal. Seeing the desperate situation unfolding in front of her eyes, Karen (Norman's ex-wife/Kim’s mother) wrote in to "George to the Rescue" hoping for a solution that will keep Kim and Norman's living situation comfortable and functional.

George called upon Brinton Brosius and Ashlee Anthony, a husband-wife contractor and designer duo that knows all too well the importance of family togetherness. The glaring issue was transforming the basement from a storage room to a livable area. Tapping BoConcept to furnish the basement turned bedroom was the only viable option for solving the storage and space issues. Each furniture piece was chosen with transformability and versatility in mind. From the gray Sazza sofa that turns into a daybed to the queen-sized bed that lifts up for storage, Norman’s new living space ensures the perfect mix of design and functionality.

Tune in this weekend on NBC to see the final space. Follow @george2rescue for more.
