One Pennsylvania town is preparing for the release of a giant marshmallow — but people won’t be taking cover like they did from the Stay Puft marshmallow man in the Ghostbusters’ movie.

Instead hundreds will flock to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to ring in 2015 with a 4-foot-5 inch, 85-pound, yellow PEEPS chick marshmallow drop scheduled for 5:15 p.m. New Year's Eve.

The family-friendly event is part of a two-day PEEPSFEST to celebrate the New Year with activities including a 5K, s'mores making and fireworks hosted by Just Born Confections at the SteelStacks.

The sixth-annual PEEPS drop joins similar happenings in Kennett Square and West Fairview with their giant mushroom and giant nail drops as well as the iconic ball drop in Times Square.
