As night falls on Chinatown Thursday night thousands of food aficionados will close in as will expected traffic delays and closures.

The last edition of this year’s Night Market Philadelphia series takes place around the Chinatown Arch at 10th and Arch Streets bringing more than 60 food vendors, trucks and restaurants with cuisines ranging from French to Venezuelan to Caribbean to Indian to Italian to Chinese (of course) to the neighborhood.
The event draws masses looking to try tasty food and spend a night out. With the weather forecast looking nearly perfect, even more people than normal could head to the event that in the past has been held along South Street in Northern Liberties and in Mount Airy.
The food fest that also features local bands, DJs, artists and even Chinese dragons is expected to run from 7 to 11.
Philadelphia Police warned that delays should be expected Thursday as 10th Street is closed from 4:30 to 11 p.m. between Arch and Vine Streets and Race Street will be closed from 6 to 11 p.m. between 9th and 11th Streets.
Basically, the suggestion is to avoid driving near the area unless you plan on sitting in traffic.
Organizers suggest public transit as the best way to get to and from the event. The nearest stations include PATCO’s 8th and Market stop; SEPTA’s Market Frankford Lines 8th and Market and 11th and Market stops; and a slew of SEPTA bus routes.

For anyone who does drive, organizers said that limited parking is available at local lots.
