Consider the Lobster on Crustacean's National Day

For some, every day in New England is lobster day, but Sunday that's unquestionably the case.

Sunday is National Lobster Day, which was designated by resolution of the U.S. Senate in July.

New England's senators requested that the Senate designate the day in honor of lobsters' economic and cultural contributions to the region.

The U.S. lobster fishery was worth more than a half billion dollars in 2015. The fishery is in the midst of a year in which lobster prices have been high at the dock and to consumers.

Sept. 25 was also National Lobster Day in 2015.
