‘Sex and The City 2' Fans Get Soundtrack Surprises

For all of the "Sex and The City" fans growing more and more anxious for the release of "Sex and The City 2," some exciting new soundtrack news should be able to keep you satiated. Just two days prior to the release of the movie (due in theaters May 27, 2010) the soundtrack is set to debut, and the album will be jam-packed with some of Hollywood's most noted recording artists.

E! Online's Marc Malkin reports that the soundtrack will feature a smorgasborg of hit singers, lead by pop-diva Alicia Keys, who will be performing a cover of Blondie's hit "Rapture" remixed with none other than the iconic "Sex and The City" theme song.

Jason Linn of WaterTower, the soundtrack's label, tells Malkin that producer Salaam Remi had Alicia in mind when he created the mix.

"She's [Alicia's] the perfect voice to introduce the… music of 'Sex and The City 2'."

Also on the playlist… a duet with Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, who also had a role in the first "Sex and The City" film as Carrie Bradshaw's hopeless romantic assistant (Jennifer will not be reprising her role in the sequel, unfortunately). Also, Brit pop star Leona Lewis will be singing an original ballad called "Love Is Your Color."

To add to the anticipation of its release, the fab four, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon, will themselves be featured on the album, belting out Helen Reddy's hit "I Am Woman."

Additionally, megastar Liza Minnelli will be singing a cover of Beyonce's smash hit "Single Ladies." New tunes from Dido and Cee-Lo will be featured on the soundtrack, as well.
