“The Social Network,” “Inception” Rule Critics' Choice Awards

The Social Network” continues to steamroll the competition when it comes to racking up awards.

The David Fincher-directed movie about the founding of Facebook took the top honor of best picture at the Critics’ Choice Awards last night at the Hollywood Palladium, The Associated Press reported. It also took awards for screenplay (Aaron Sorkin), score (Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross), and best direction (Fincher).

However, “The Social Network”’s total number of awards didn’t best the sci-fi film "Inception," which won six, including best action movie.

Colin Firth won best actor in “The King’s Speech” and Natalie Portman took best actress for “Black Swan.” Actors Christian Bale and Melissa Leo were honored with best supporting awards for “The Fighter.” The best young actor or actress award went to Hallee Steinfeld for “True Grit.”

The other honorees at last night’s Critics' Choice Awards included “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” for best foreign-language picture and “Toy Story 3” for best animated film, according to the AP.
