The date 11/12/13 is proving to be a popular wedding date for couples who want to be married on a memorable day.

One New York couple tied the knot on the "Today" show on Tuesday at precisely 9:10 a.m. for an easy-to-remember marker of their wedding moment: 9:10 on 11/12/13.

Newlyweds Shanel Manzano and Elliot Byrant talked to Today.com about the significance of those numbers.

"The sum of 11, 12, and 13 is 9. The number 9 is also considered to be 'lucky' in the Chinese culture as it means long lasting," Manzano said. "To make it even more personal, the number 12 is my lucky number while 13 is [Elliot’s] lucky number.”

The pair appeared before the "Today" show anchors, a live studio audience and their wedding party at around 9:07 a.m. By 9:10 a.m. the two were pronounced husband and wife and sealed their nuptials with a kiss.

Dates with sequential or repetitive numbers are especially popular wedding dates because they're easy to remember and they look good on an invitation, according to the wedding blog theknot.com.

Even though Nov. 12 this year falls on a Tuesday, it lands in the fall which is becoming an increasingly popular season for weddings. Oct. 12, 2013 was the most popular wedding date of the year, according to theknot.com.

The last sequential date for nearly a century is about year away on Dec. 13, 2014 (12/13/14).
