The “Voice” Recap: America Picks Top 8

The number of contestants on “The Voice” dwindled down to eight Tuesday, as two Team Christina performers were sent home.

Koryn Hawthorne (Team Pharrell), Corey Kent White (Team Blake), Sawyer Fredericks (Team Pharrell), India Carney(Team Christina), were among the first acts to make it to this week's top 8.

Country star Reba McEntire guest starred and sang, "Going Out Like That" before Meghan Linsey (Team Blake) and Kimberly Nichole (Team Christina) found out they were safe.

Team Adam Levine performed a contemporary version of "The Joker" to get the crowd roaring before Hannah Kirby (Team Blake) was picked to move on to next week's round.

The bottom three consisted of Joshua Davis (Team Adam), Deanna Johnson (Team Christina) and Rob Taylor (Team Christina).

All three had to perform a song to try and win an "Instant Save" from America. Taylor went with "Sittin' On The Dock of the Bay," Johnson sang "Help Me Make it Through the Night" and Davis performed "I Won't Back Down."

At the end, the "Instant Save" went to Joshua Davis, eliminating Johnson and Taylor from the game. The "instant save" protected Deanna Johnson of Team Adam last week.
