Anderson Cooper probably isn't breaking into a giggle fit today: His syndicated daytime talk show, Anderson Live, has been canceled.

Telepictures, which syndicates the Warner Brothers-produced chatfest, announced Monday that the low-rated show, which had undergone several changes in its second season in an effort to boost audience interest, won't return for a third. "We are extremely proud of Anderson and the show that he and the entire production team have produced," read the statement. "While we made significant changes to the format, set and produced it live in its second season, the series will not be coming back for a third season in a marketplace that has become increasingly difficult to break through."

The news comes as several new daytime entries, including shows hosted by Survivor's Jeff Probst and Ricki Lake, have struggled to find their footing in a crowded, competitive landscape. Anderson Live will continue to air new episodes throughout next summer.

"I am very proud of the work that our terrific staff has put into launching and sustaining our show for two seasons," Cooper said in his own statement. "I am grateful to Telepictures for giving me the opportunity, and I am indebted to the audience, who have responded so positively. I look forward to doing more great shows this season, and I'm sorry we won't be continuing, but I have truly enjoyed it."

Launched in the fall of 2011, Anderson Live arrived with high expectations, considering the pedigree and appeal of its host. Though his talk show may be ending, Cooper can comfort himself with the fact that he still has two other gigs--Anderson Cooper 360 and contributing to 60 Minutes--to keep him busy.
