Jon Rudnitsky Joins ‘Saturday Night Live' as Featured Player

A new face for a new season.

Stand-up comic Jon Rudnitsky joins the cast of "Saturday Night Live" for its 41st season as a featured player.

The 25-year-old comedian hails from Harrington Park, New Jersey and graduated from the University of Southern California. Rudnitsky won the 2012 Laugh Factory Laugh Bowl, featured in this year's New Faces showcase at Montreal's Just for Laughs festival and gained a YouTube following thanks to his parodies of "House of Cards" and "True Detective."

"SNL" returns with new episodes on Oct. 3 with host Miley Cyrus. Amy Schumer makes her hosting debut on Oct. 10, and former cast member Tracy Morgan returns on Oct. 17.

Morgan has been recovering from a traumatic brain injury after a June 2014 car wreck on the New Jersey Turnpike. Soon after the news of his return to "SNL" broke, the comedian said on Twitter he was "stoked to be going home."

The most Emmy-nominated show of all time, "Saturday Night Live" celebrated its 40th anniversary with a star-studded broadcast special in February.
