Born to Run: ‘Springsteen on Broadway' Extended Until February

Ticket to the show were selling for as much as $7,000 apiece on Stubhub after going on sale Wednesday.

If you're a Boss fan mulling buying a new car, a family vacation to Hawaii or shelling over a few thousand for "Springsteen on Broadway" tickets take a breath. You may still have a shot at reasonably priced tickets as Ticketmaster announced Wednesday Springsteen's show has been extended until February 3rd.

If you previously registered for "Springsteen on Broadway" powered by Ticketmaster #VerifiedFan your registration would automatically carried over for the new run, so there is no need to re-register.

Tickets for the show went on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday. But despite Ticketmaster's best efforts, tickets hit the resale market almost immediately after being sold to the general public. A quick check of online ticket reseller Stubhub Wednesday saw tickets to the show being offered for as much $7,000 for premium seats.

"Springsteen on Broadway" begins previews Oct. 3 ahead of an Oct. 12 opening at the intimate 960-seat Walter Kerr Theatre. The eight-week run is expected to play through Nov. 26. Springsteen will perform five shows a week.

Many upset fans took to social media complaining about the price gouging.
