WATCH: Allison Williams Takes Flight in “Peter Pan Live!” Promo

"Peter Pan" stage veterans Sandy Duncan and Cathy Rigby McCoy also joined Williams on NBC's "Today" on Thursday to discuss the legacy of women in the lead role.

Allison Williams is taking flight in "Peter Pan Live! and you don't have to wait until Thursday, Dec. 4 to see her in action. NBC has released the first promo of the "Girls" star in the trademark green costume (this one includes fishnets for some reason) with special behind-the-scenes footage. There's also a glimpse of Williams as Peter Pan battling Christopher Walken as Captain Hook. Yes, that's Christopher Walken.

There's a fair amount of wind and wires involved because it is Peter Pan.

NBC's "Peter Pan Live!" hails from the producers of last year's "The Sound of Music Live," Neil Meron and Craig Zadan. They're also behind this year's Oscars and were behind NBC's "Smash." The 2013 telecast of "The Sound of Music" starring Carrie Underwood was a hit for NBC, attracting more than 18 million viewers.

"Peter Pan" stage veterans Sandy Duncan and Cathy Rigby McCoy joined Williams on NBC's "Today" on Thursday to discuss the legacy of women in the lead role. "I'm learning a lot," Williams said.

Duncan explained a woman as Peter Pan has just been the tradition since 1905.

"Peter Pan Live!" will air from 8 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, on NBC.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
