Madame Tussauds Dusts Off Tribute for King of Pop

Free exhibit features original hand casting

Throughout his life Michael Jackson made hits on wax -- a year after his death, he's a hit in wax.

Madame Tussauds in Times Square is marking the anniversary of the King of Pop's untimely demise by  retouching the make-up on his wax figure, steaming its outfit, styling its hair, and putting it on full display in the museum's lobby.

The entire Jackson exhibit will feature songs from throughout his career. And the celebration is only part of nine Tussauds exhibits worldwide that will be paying tribute. According to a Tussauds spokesman, each exhibit is unique to each venue.

The New York tribute will be free to the public and will run for two weeks beginning Friday. The tribute exhibit will also include a variety of classic MJ photos and  fans will be able to take pictures with the statue as they are treated to a medley of Jackson's biggest hits. The 42nd Street location will even displaying an original plaster cast of his hand.

Madame Tussauds opens everyday at 10 a.m. and the last ticket sold is at 10 p.m.
