Rep: Misty May-Treanor's Surgery A Success

Misty May-Treanor is home and resting following a successful surgery to repair her Achilles tendon earlier today.

On Monday night’s “Dancing With the Stars,” Misty confirmed that an injury she suffered last Friday during a rehearsal with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy was taking her out of the competition and sending her under the knife.

And early this afternoon, Misty’s rep told Access the volleyball star’s surgery was a success.

“The surgery on Misty’s ruptured Achilles this morning was a success and she is currently at home recovering,” the rep said in a statement to Access. “Her husband, Matt Treanor, is with her.”

Misty injured herself, tearing her Achilles tendon, while practicing the Lindy Hop, a dance she was looking forward to performing in front of the “Dancing” audience in sneakers.

“I was doing the Lindy Hop, finishing up, heard a pop over here… It felt like I got hit in the back with a baseball bat,” she told “Dancing” host Tom Bergeron on Monday night’s show. “Then I just couldn’t put weight on it.”

A true team player, Misty apologized to fans for her injury taking her partner, the ladies’ favorite Maks, out of the competition.
