Popular celebrity blogger Perez Hilton's (real name: Mario Lavendeira) night at the 2009 MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto ended with an alleged assault. According to Perez, the Black Eyed Peas' Manager, Polo Molina, allegedly assaulted him following the awards show.
"I'm in shock. I need the police ASAP. Please come to the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel now. Please," Perez wrote on his Twitter page following the Canadian award show in Toronto, initially claiming that the Black Eyed Peas frontman, Will.i.am, allegedly hit him.

"I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke."
"Still waiting for the police. The bleeding has stopped. I need to document this. Please, can the police come to the SoHo Met Hotel," he continued. "I spoke to my lawyer. I really need to talk to the authorities. Please come to the SoHo Met Hotel. Have called the police. Need them here."

Perez's Twitter calls for help did not go unanswered by his fans.

"The Toronto police are here now. Thank you. Please stop calling them," he wrote after authorities had arrived.
Will.i.am posted an online response to the assault allegation Monday morning denying he hit the celebrity blogger.

"This dude twists it, and says that I assaulted him, when I was the one that came to him with respect and he was the one who called me a f*ggot outside the club, whatever," the Black Eyed Peas frontman said in the posted video. "I hit you Perez? Come on dude. I didn't hit you."
"I told you that I didn't like the fact that you disrespected us. It's cool to have your opinion, but dude, apparently you were bleeding outside the club, I was like next to you by a tree waiting for my car and instead of calling the police, you Tweeted that I assaulted you. Sounds like somebody wants mad attention and is not really concerned with his health. I didn't hit you," he continued. "And this is very wrong that you are Twittering that I did that, once again disrespecting me and everything that I stand for, and they're lies and that's wrong. Shame on you and shame on your behavior and that's just messed up, peace."
Perez then took to his blog responding to Will.i.am and accusing the band's manager of allegedly assaulting him.
"I know that I say things that can really upset people, that's never a reason to hit someone. Will.I.Am made a video and he lied. Will.I.Am is a coward and disgusting human being for lying. I am making this video because I want to make it clear that I would never make up something like this. I would never lie about something so serious," Perez said in his video response.
Perez went on to claim that the night's problems started when a member of the Black Eyed Peas entourage allegedly aggressively elbowed him back stage at the awards show. He then claimed that tensions escalated at an after party when Will.i.am allegedly confronted him asking him to never write about his band on his popular blog and continued outside the party on the street when the band's manager allegedly hit him multiple times.
"[The Black Eyed Peas'] manager Polo [Molina], whom I have met before, from behind comes up to me, clocks me in the eye… and punches me two or three times. I am in shock… I touch my eye and it was bleeding."
The Toronto police told Access Hollywood that Molina turned himself in to authorities Monday morning. He was charged with assault and due back in court August 5, 2009. The police said Perez "sustained minor injuries."
