Rihanna Eyes Starring Role in “Bodyguard” Remake

Rihanna may be getting a beefed-up security detail -- on the silver screen.

The R&B singer was in talks to remake the 1992 Whitney Houston classic film "The Bodyguard" when she visited Manhattan over the weekend, the New York Daily News reported.

Rihanna would be playing an updated version of singing diva who needs round-the-clock security first made famous by Houston and “GI Joe” star Channing Tatum is reportedly taking on the role played by Kevin Costner, an insider told the paper.

The songbird, who was allegedly beaten by boyfriend Chris Brown on Feb. 8,  has been flirting with a film transition since for some time.

"Before the situation with Chris, Ri was getting a lot of scrips," a source told the News. "She's been wanting to do movies for a while now."

The source also told the paper that Rihanna is also in talks to star in a “Charlie’s Angels” sequel with Justin Timberlake.
