Year's Top Celeb Searches: Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, Tiger Woods

Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber fought all year for bragging rights as the king and queen of social media, but it’s Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus and Tiger Woods who stole the crown with Internet searchers.

The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” reality star was the most-searched person and overall top query for 2010 on Bing.com, the website announced this week.

But Miley Cyrus edged out Kim K as the top celebrity on Yahoo!’s Year in Review list. The teen pop star, who spent the year reminding us she wasn’t Hannah Montana anymore, landed at no. 3 in overall queries, below the BP oil spill and the World Cup.

AOL Search broke down its 2010 Year End Hot Searches list by category, with Tiger Woods' infamous fall from grace drawing the most interest among star searchers. Coming in at no.2 and no. 3 on the list were Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.

Both performers made the top 10 in all three companies' search lists, which should come as no surprise: the Biebs and Gaga drew headlines for hitting new heights of online popularity this year on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

Don’t count out either performer when Google’s year-end list comes out later this month.

Whoever leads the search giant’s list could arguably lay the greatest claim to Internet fame.

After all, Google is the no. 1 search engine in the industry by a mile.
