Lindsay Lohan Is Released From Jail

The starlet was previously sentenced to 120 days for violation of her probation.

Hours after she was sentenced to 120 days for violating her probation involving an alleged jewelry theft, actress Lindsay Lohan was freed from a Los Angeles jail last night after making bail, according to The Associated Press.

KNBC reported that the actress was released from the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood at 9:21 p.m. and departed with a motorcade.

Prior to her release, Lohan yesterday received a 120-day jail sentence and was also ordered to perform 480 hours of community service. The service includes 300 hours at a women's center, The Associated Press reported.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner set the actress' bail at $75,000.

Her attorney vowed to appeal the ruling.

Earlier in the day, the starlet's felony grand theft charge was reduced to a misdemeanor, which carries a potential one year jail sentence. The ruling came during a preliminary hearing at which the judge was to decide whether there was enough evidence for a trial in the alleged theft of a necklace from a Venice jewelry store.

An employee and a co-owner of the store from which Lohan, 24, allegedly stole a $2,500 necklace testified Friday at the actress' preliminary hearing.

Prosecutors rested their case at about 2 p.m. The judge's ruling was issued shortly after prosecutors rested.

Tinelli Comsooksri, a store employee, said in court Lohan visited the Abbot Kinney Boulevard shop on Jan. 18 -- four days before the alleged necklace theft. Comsooksri said she stopped Lohan on Jan. 18 to tell her she still was wearing earrings that belonged to the store.

Sofia Kaman, the store's co-owner, also testified Friday. She said she realized the necklace was missing about 10 minutes after Lohan left the store.

Kaman said she opened the shop's locked door to let Lohan and her friend out of the store, but she didn't realize the actress was wearing the necklace. She said there was no agreement that Lohan would pay for it later.

On the eve of her court date, Lohan took to Twitter to express her excitement about landing her comeback role on the John Gotti biopic "Gotti: Three Generations."

"I cannot explain how excited i am to begin working on films again," she wrote.

She next returns to court May 11.
