Joe Jackson Gives Family Update, Confirms Indiana Jackson Museum In The Works

Joe Jackson hit the red carpet in New York City last night, making a public appearance at the RockMeTV.com launch party for his new movie, "Destination Fame."

While at the event, the Jackson family patriarch gave an update on how the family is doing nearly a month after the death of Michael Jackson.

"Everybody's fine. Thank you," he told Access Hollywood.

Joe caused a back up on the press line as he promoted the film, which came out on DVD last month, and his new recording artists.

Inside the event, Joe paid tribute to his late son.

"I think it's a good thing," Joe said prior to paying tribute to Michael. "This movie, 'Destination Fame' will be carrying a legacy, a tribute to my son."

Joe, who is called "Mr. J" by his entourage, also confirmed that he is building a museum in the Jacksons' hometown.

"It's in Gary, Indiana," he said. "It will have some of the memorabilia that goes with it."

And on Friday, Rudy Clay, the Mayor of Gary, confirmed he has been working with Joe since last year on the museum project.

The museum was in the planning stages before Michael Jackson died on June 25, but it is now on a fast track. He said, however, there was no timeline for the project.
