Guns N' Roses + World Series = Free Soda & Tacos For America

There’s no such thing as a free lunch — but thanks to Axl Rose and the Tampa Bay Rays, Americans can come pretty close.

Dr. Pepper, which promised a free can of soda to every man, woman and child in the U.S. earlier this year if Guns N’ Roses’ long-awaited album, “Chinese Democracy,” was released in 2008, is going to make good on its word after the band announced a Nov. 23 release date.

To score your soda, go to DrPepper.com on Nov. 23 to register for a coupon for a free 20 ounce bottle, redeemable wherever Dr. Pepper is sold.

As for the free Taco Bell, thank Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Jason Bartlett, who stole a base in the first game of the World Series. Like last year, Taco Bell is offering a free taco to anyone between 2 PM and 6 PM on Tuesday, October 28 in its “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco” campaign, which could lead to more tacos should players steal more bases in the next three games.

Last year, Boston Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury swiped a base against the Colorado Rockies in the 2007 World Series to earn everyone free tacos in the campaign.

However, there’s one company which isn’t giving it away — contrary to rumor, burger chain In N’ Out did not go back to 1940’s prices on Wednesday in celebration of its 60th anniversary.
