Glam Slam: Makeup Mondays – Five Steps To Fabulous!

"One person who's definitely inspiring is Anne Hathaway. She's always got this bright glowing complexion… and long lovely lashes."

Anne is a makeup inspiration! Lancome Makeup Artist Andrew Sotomayor uses Hathaway's fresh faced beauty as the basis for five easy tips to get a youthful glow for Spring!

STEP ONE: "The first step, great skin care products." Andrew suggests Lancome's Genefique, "a serum type product that's really good for all skin types. It's going to be the first thing that you put onto your skin before you put on a moisturizer."

STEP TWO: "The next step, you have to perfect the canvas. I suggest using a lightweight natural looking foundation. Mineral makeup is all the rage." Lancome's new Ageless Minerale Mineral is an oil free, powder foundation. To apply, "I'm just going to dust a little into the cap, top off the extra and blend it just where it's needed… foundation should never be a mask. You need a little bit more in some places than others."

STEP THREE: "I definitely recommend going with a bright pink lip. Red was the 'it' item last Fall, pink is the perfect pairing for this season." Andrew's suggestion is the new La Laque Fever, which is a cross between a lipstick and a gloss, in the Electric Pink shade. Use the spade shaped applicator to contour the lips and get the perfect plump pout.

STEP FOUR: "We have to complement the bright lip with long lovely lashes." To achieve perfect lashes, use Lancome's Oscillations, a vibrating mascara! "With Oscillation, the thing to remember is go slow, straight and steady right through the lashes. You should not wiggle the brush." And with any mascara, "putting extra mascara in the outer corner of the eye adds a little bit of width and brings out the almond shape."

STEP FIVE: "To complete the look go with a pop of color on the cheek. Again, go for a bright pink shade… a little rosy color on the cheek definitely just makes you look and feel young and fresh." As for the tricky question of where the color should go: "look in the mirror, the highest point on your cheekbone is where you're going to pop the color."
