Ashton Kutcher On Why He Hates Valentine's Day

Ashton Kutcher may be one of the stars of "Valentine's Day" and deeply committed to his beautiful wife Demi Moore, but he has no love for the actual holiday.

"I hate Valentine's Day. I can't stand it," the actor told Parade.

But Ashton doesn't hate it because he's anti-romantic. In fact, Ashton thinks one's love should be shown all year round.

"I think that every day should be a day of romance. I think you should celebrate love 364 days out of the year. Then, on Valentine's Day, you should get to tell whoever you hate that you cannot stand them. There would be one day of hating, and 364 days of love," he said, presumably joking.

While he doesn't like the idea of the day, Valentine's Day itself has always been pleasant for the former model.

"We don't really have bad Valentine's Days. The thing is, guys have pretty much zero expectations, and when you don't have any expectations, you can't really be disappointed," he said. "So I don't think I've ever had like a bad Valentine's Day."

Although he did admit that he once left the planning too late once when going out with his wife, her ex, Bruce Willis, and Bruce's wife Emma Hemming.

"Demi and I decided that we were going to spend Valentine's Day with Bruce and Emma. So it was me, Demi, Bruce and Emma, which is great because we're all best friends and we all hang out. I got to be in charge of booking the restaurant. It was February 14 and we weren't in Hollywood, where I have a little clout making reservations," he explained. "So I'm like calling around, trying to pull any kind of juice that I can to get a table. But, I hate dropping my own name, so I'm like, 'Yes, I'm calling from Mr. Kutcher's office, he would like a reservation.' And literally every place was booked and so we ended up sitting at the bar some place."

The star previously told Access Hollywood that this year, he and Demi would be celebrating the day with a charity effort.

"Demi and I have agreed that instead of doing the big thing for each other, we are going to celebrate by sharing our love with other people," he said. "We launched our foundation, the DNA Foundation, on Monday to help trafficking victims — we have this group in New York, GEMS Girls… who don't have someone to be their Valentine this year. So Demi and I are going to send flowers to all of these girls, as many as we can, and make them our Valentines."
