Aerosmith Guitarist Rear-Ended on Motorcycle

Minor injuries won't affect upcoming tour

Aerosmith ax man Joe Perry had to go to a hospital near his Massachusetts home after getting rear-ended while riding his motorcycle, authorities said.

The guitar great was released after being treated for minor injuries suffered when a car driven by Linda O'Brien, 62, hit his Ducati Monster 696 on Thursday. Perry, 59, was riding in Middleborough, not far from his Duxbury home. Hospital officials did not release details concerning his injuries.

Perry and his band have patched up problems with lead singer Steven Tyler. The singer fought with the band and caused cancellation of their national tour on hold after falling from the stage last August at a show in Sturgis, S.D. There was even talk they were auditioning new singers amid sniping about Tyler's drug problems.

But Tyler reportedly underwent rehab and the band launches an 18-date North American tour July 26 in Irvine, Calif.

"The f***-yous run deep in a band like Aerosmith," Tyler told Billboard.com, "and the best part about it is the make-up. We live to be on stage with each other and play -- because we don't really know what else to do, to be honest with you!"
