Each month, Philadelphia's Magic Gardens offers “Twilight in the Gardens” and other special events on their spectacular grounds. This Friday night (July 25th), join them for a unique, midsummer celebration of traditional and contemporary Iranian culture under the stars.
Drinks and appetizers will be served in the glittering, sculpture labyrinth while you enjoy traditional dance performances and live, contemporary Iranian music. Create an original print of your own design inspired by Islamic mosaics and learn about Persian calligraphy. Other activities include a scavenger hunt and mini guided tour of the fascinating Gardens and rarely seen mosaic-tiled basement.
If You Go
7 to 10 p.m. - Enjoy contemporary Iranian music, popular Iranian appetizers and beverages while exploring the sculpture garden.
7 to 9:30 p.m. - Teaching artist demonstrations.
7:30 p.m. – Mini tour.
8 - 8:30 p.m. - Enjoy a performance of traditional Persian music by Jalal Kimia, Feridoon Aryani and Ahmad Esmi performing on traditional Persian instruments including the setar, a Persian lute and the daf, a Persian drum.
8:30 to 8:40 p.m. Enjoy customary Iranian dance by Sibia Ranjbar and Annie Vahedipour.
8:40 p.m. Mini tour.
9 to 9:30 p.m. Catch the second musical performance.

Admission includes two complimentary drink tickets. Additional tickets are available for $3.00 each. BYOB is not for this event. Attendees must present valid ID at door in order to receive complimentary drink tickets and to purchase additional tickets.

About the Gardens
Philadelphia's Magic Gardens (PMG) is a mosaicked visionary art environment, gallery and community arts center that preserves, interprets and provides access to artist Isaiah Zagar's unique mosaic art environment and public murals. The Magic Gardens site includes a fully tiled indoor space and a wonderful outdoor mosaic sculpture garden that spans half a block in Philadelphia’s South Street district. Inside, you’ll find fascinating folk art statues, bicycle wheels, colorful glass bottles, Zagar's handmade tiles, and thousands of glittering mirrors. The installation pays tribute to Zagar's artistic influences and experiences.
Open to visitors daily, PMG is a unique, non-profit Philadelphia destination, hosting year-round, low-cost public programs designed to educate the public about folk, mosaic and visionary art, and to inspire creativity and community engagement. Catch a special exhibition, "Beyond the Wall" through August 24th.
Parking - Metered and two-hour street parking is available nearby along South and Bainbridge Streets, while free and untimed street parking is available farther south. The closest parking garage is located at 11th and South Streets.
Summer Pass - Purchase a Summer Pass ($15) for free, unlimited admission to PMG during normal business hours and discounted admission to special events, including Date Night and Twilight in the Gardens events.
