Worth the Trip: Spend the Night at the Museum

Have you ever spent a night at the museum? Well, now you can!

The Independence Seaport Museum is offering guests the opportunity to camp out inside the Philly landmark during its Friends and Family Seaport Slumber event Friday, May 8.

The evening commences with after-hour tours of the museum's two historic ships, the Olympia and Becuna. Visitors will even have the chance to test out their own tin-foil boat.

Throughout the night, guests will participate in various events including the flashlight scavenger hunt, cleaning up an oil spill and deciphering Morse code.

After all the excitement, a movie will be played helping guests can wind down and relax before bed.

Following a good night's sleep, visitors can continue exploring the museum during daylight or enjoy a tasty breakfast.

The program is open to kids ages 6 to 12 years old and one adult chaperon must be present for every three kids.

Admission is $50 per person and includes snacks and breakfast.

For additional information, check out the Philadelphia Seaport Museum website or call 215-413-8630.
