Worth The Trip: Annual Civil War Re-Enactment

It may have been 150 years ago that the Civil War finally came to an end, but Neshaminy State Park is honoring history with the 26th annual Neshaminy State Park Civil War Re-Enactment.

The event, which was originally initiated in 1990, has become one of the largest historical Civil War recreations on the East Coast.

The re-enactment has raised more than $30,000 to date, helping preserve battlefields, both local and national preservation groups along with monument conservation and maintaining historical societies.

Committee members have carefully selected actors, uniforms, weapons and appropriate terrain to re-create an authentic historical battle of action.

All funds raised from the event are donated to a non-profit group selected each year by the Neshaminy Event Committee.

The event takes off Saturday, April 25 through Sunday, April 26 at the Neshimany State Park in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

Admission is $20 and walk-ins are welcome until noon on Saturday, April 25. Children under 12 get in for free.
