Not a Drill: Malick's “Tree of Life” Trailer Running With “Black Swan”

"The Tree of Life" reported finished shooting in early 2009, and now some 18 months later, we're finally getting a glimpse, with the release of the whole film only another six months away.

The first trailer of "Tree" will run Friday ahead of "Black Swan," Darren Aronofsky's psychological thriller starring Natalie Portman and set in the world of ballet, The Playlist has confirmed.

Star Brad Pitt described "Tree" thusly to Empire back in April:

"It's this little tiny story of a kid growing up in the 50s with a mother who's grace incarnate and a father who's oppressive in nature. So he is negotiating his way through it, defining who he's gonna be when he grows up. And that is juxtaposed with a little, tiny micro-story of the cosmos, from the beginning of the cosmos to the death of the cosmos."

Pitt and Jessica Chastain play the parents, with Sean Penn playing the older version of their son. Oh, and rumor has it their are dinosaurs.

If you're confused now, just wait until May 27, 2011, when "Tree of Life" finally arrives.
