Joe Manganiello's Werewolf Goes Full-Time Hottie on “True Blood”

Once again, vampires will not be having all the fun. On the hairy heels of the popular "Twilight" franchise, HBO's "True Blood" is letting hunky werewolves into the action in a big way.

Joe Manganiello, the hottest and latest addition to the show, has been promoted to a series regular.

Deadline.com reports that the star has been assured his alpha male werewolf part will be back full-time for season 4, which will premiere in summer 2011.

Like his "Twilight"  werewolf counterpart Taylor Lautner, Manganiello has shown all the ripped abs and willingness to appear shirtless. His storyline has even mirrored that of the "Twilight" -- he's the caring, protective (and physically warm) foil to Stephen Moyer's cold
(emotionally and physically) vampire Bill Compton.

In one of his first episodes for the series, Manganiello's wolf-man Alcide Herveaux comforted Anna Paquin's Sookie Stackhouse after Bill dumped her over the phone. As she inched closer to him, Alcide preserved their friendship line by getting up and proclaiming he would put his shirt back on. You really couldn't get any closer to the troublesome vampire-werewolf love triangle of "Twilight" if you tried -- only its better in "True Blood."

Manganiello full time status will ensure this sexy storyline will continue.

The One Tree Hill alum- who also played Flash Thompson in the Spiderman films- was originally slated for a few episodes. You just cannot keep a good werewolf down.
