Megan vs. Lilo: Fox May Also Be Up for Liz Taylor Role

When it was announced that Lifetime was planning to make a made-for-TV biopic about the late Elizabeth Taylor starring Lindsay Lohan, we scoffed at the idea based on Lohan's pre-production track record.

But it looks like Lifetime IS serious about the movie, and they have former "Transformers" star Megan Fox in their sights as well.

The film's executive producer Larry Thompson made no secret of his wish list.

"I've been talking to Lindsay Lohan directly, and with her reps, and have been in conversations with other actresses, including Megan Fox,"  Thompson told E! News.

He added, "It's a very serious selection. It's like casting for Hollywood royalty."

So...Fox vs. Lilo. Who ya got?

Both actresses need a comeback role so badly they're stopping just short of standing in front of Mann's Chinese theater with homemade "Cast Me" signs. We'll see who wants it more. On the surface, we can see Fox looking the part of young Liz more than Lohan. Plus, Fox has the added bonus of not being a terrifying insurance nightmare, and not having pending court dates. The worst Fox will do is bad-mouth the director afterwards.

The film, which is working under the title "Liz and Dick," is scheduled to start filming in the Spring.
