Seeing as "Taken" - which starred Liam Neeson as a semi-retired government agent who is forced to use all of his considerable badassery skills to hunt down slave traders who kidnapped his daughter - was an unexpected hit, it's really not a surprise that people began suggesting a sequel.

Well, now it seems to be happening.

According to Deadline, Neeson has configured his extremely heavy workload to make room for another go-round as the ruthlessly efficient Bryan Mills. This movie would be slated in between his return as Zeus in "Wrath of the Titans" (the sequel to the "Clash of the Titans" remake), the just-completed "The Grey" for "A-Team" director Joe Carnahan, and "Battleship" for director Peter Berg ("The Rundown").

"Taken" producer Luc Besson ("The Professional") is also slated to come back and shepherd the project.

No word on the plot, which members of the original cast (Maggie Grace, Famke Janssen, Xander Berkeley, Leland Orser) will be back, or even a title ("Taken 2: Took Harder?"), but with Neeson and Besson locked in, things should pick up quickly.
