Harrison Ford Will Play Wyatt Earp in “Black Hats,” to Face-Off With Al Capone

Fresh off playing a grizzled old cowpoke in "Cowboys & Aliens," Harrison Ford will again go Old West, this time fighting a foe only slightly less unlikely.

Ford will star as legendary lawman Wyat Earp in an adaptation of "Black Hats," according to The Hollywood Reporter. The story finds Earp in his 70s, living in L.A. where he works as a private eye who is hired to help out John Holliday, grandson of of "Doc," who is running a speakeasy in New York, and finds himself in trouble with Al Capone.

The novel was written by Patrick Culhane, the pen name of Max Allen Collins, best known as the author of "Road to Perdition." Kurt Johnstad, who adapted "300" for the big screen, will writ the screenplay
