David Crosses “Arrested Development” Movie Off To-Do List

Fans have been waiting for the movie version of "Arrested Development" pretty much since the day the final episode aired, and the fate of the project has changed almost monthly. It's dead as of today.

"(I)t's not going to happen," David Cross told TV Squad. "Way too much time it's been (since the show ended)...I mean, there's so many people involved. Everyone's doing their own thing, you know. And everybody's aged. It's just not going to happen. I'm sure I speak for everybody when I say we'd love for it to happen, we'd love to work on it, but just I don't think... not going to happen."

When you look at the show's cast, scheduling issues are no small matter. In addition to Cross's busy career, Bluth matriarch Jessica Walter is doing "Archer" these days, Jason Bateman has a very busy movie career, as do Will Arnett, Michael Cera and Tony Hale. And Mrs. Ellen DeGeneres, Jeffrey Tambor and Ali Shawkat aren't exactly hurting for work.

For  years it was Cera who was cast as the villain, allegedly holding up the project, refusing to go back to the role that made him famous.

Who knows what the truth is, and really, it doesn't matter at this point.
