Utley Shows Improvement in Rehab Game

He was sidelined for several weeks after injuring his right knee but Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Chase Utley was back on the field today -- and playing well.

NBC Philadelphia was there when Utley took to the field this morning during an extended training game in Dunedin, Florida.

Utley played seven innings and finished 5-for-7 with two home runs.

“It felt pretty good. It was just good to get back out between the lines…see how it [the knee] responds tomorrow and go from there,” Utley told reporters.

Utley has slowly been progressing since being shelved during spring training with tendinitis.

“It was good to get some timing back and get some swings in there, see some live pitching…so we will keep it going,” he said.
