Dane Sardinha is back in the majors.
With Carlos Ruiz on the shelf for a few days with a balky back the Phillies reached down to the farm for a little catching help.
Dane Sardinha was called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to backup Brian Schneider.
To make room for the 32-year-old veteran backstop the Phillies sent ineffective reliever Mike Zagurski back to the farm. In two games with the Phils the 28-year-old lefty was 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA in 1 1/3 innings.
Sardinha, a career .151 batter, batted .205 with two doubles and three homers in 13 games last season with the Phightins.
