All-Star outfielder Hunter Pence hosted his first charity event as a member of the Phillies for three local charities on Thursday evening.
The event was held at the Mashulu at Penn's Landing. Guests enjoyed games, including ping-pong, live entertainment and had the chance to participate in silent and live auctions.
The money raised will go to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Philadelphia & Susquehanna Valley, Philabundance and Phillies Charities.
“I’ve enjoyed my short time in Philadelphia and was looking for a way to give back to the community and thought this would be a fun way to do it,” Hunter said. “All three charities are doing work that I believe in. Let’s go eat and raise some money!”
Phillies players, Ballgirls and the Phanatic attended the event.
