Eagles Don't Want Vick to Play Sunday: Eskin

Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was listed as questionable for Sunday’s last stand as the Eagles visit the Giants on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.

So the question begs to be asked, will he play?

Vick wants to play despite having two broken ribs but the Eagles brass made the decision Friday to have Vick sit out Sunday, an Eagles insider told Football Night in Philly’s Howard Eskin.

Vick broke two ribs early in last week’s crushing loss to the Cardinals but continued to play despite the pain.

Other QBs (Tony Romo) have played with broken ribs recently so it’s possibly Vick could play but the team doesn’t want him to, Eskin said.

Considering the Eagles coaches have the final say, it was looking more likely that veteran Vince Young would get his first start with the Birds in place of Vick.

Also if the oft-injured Vick misses the game, this season would mark his eight season in nine years of NFL that he failed to start all 16 games.

Eskin also said that WR Jeremy Maclin is out for Sunday’s game as he battles hamstring and shoulder injuries that kept him out of practice all week.
