Vick Hurts Shoulder, Admits He Needs to Stop Taking Hits

Michael Vick told me Tuesday that he was hurt during the Giants game.

I spoke with the Eagles QB on my weekday drive radio show on 610-WIP.

One thing that stood out to me is his admission that he hurt his throwing shoulder when he got hit.

"I took one on the shoulder man -- on my left shoulder -- and I'm upset right now because my left shoulder is sore," he told Ike Reese and I.

But don't expect him to miss Sunday's game at the Bears -- he tested his arm by throwing passes in his condo and said he feels "good to go."

He will now look to get out of bounds when he tucks the ball to take off and run, Vick said.

"I told you guys once before that I learned my lesson when I broke my ribs but obviously I didn’t," he told Ike Reese and I.

He may have finally learned his lesson not to take the hits, he said.

"I have to start playing smart football or else I won't last long," he quipped.

Also he said he doesn't really want to continue to talk about the past but is glad he got it out there in this week’s Sports Illustrated cover story. He also said it's always an honor to grace the cover of SI.
