Asante Pulls Out of Pro Bowl With Gimpy Knee

Looks like the Eagles won’t be so well represented in Hawaii as expected next weekend.

The Eagles were supposed to be have five players in Honolulu but fell to three after CB Asante Samuel and OT Jason Peters pulled out of the Pro Bowl Thursday.

Both guys were set to start for the NFC along with Michael Vick. But, Asante and Peters battled knee injuries this season so stepping aside to fully heal makes sense.

And, let’s be honest, not playing in the NFL’s version of the All-Star game is almost as popular as actually suiting up.

Packers CB Tramon Williams and Atlanta OL Tyson Clabo take the wounded Birds' spots.

Along with Vick, wideout DeSean Jackson and K David Akers will still make the trip to Honolulu.
