McNabb Trade to Vikings Nearly Done

Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb could be on his way to Minnesota as many have speculated this offseason.

But before a trade is completed, McNabb must agree to restructure his contract.

NBC Washington’s Dan Hellie reported that a deal between the Redskins and Vikings is in place. It’s only being held up by the $10 million signing bonus McNabb is due after the first game of the season.

McNabb was benched twice last season before coach Mike Shanahan demoted him to the third-string for the final three games of the season.

The lockout prevented the Redskins from unloading McNabb sooner, so the team is forced to make moves quickly.

Many players were at Redskins Park Tuesday, but McNabb was not among them. He will be required to report to training camp when it begins Thursday if a trade isn’t done.
