RG3 and the Redskins handed the Eagles their 6th straight loss, blowing them out 31-6.
In his first regular season start, rookie Eagles QB Nick Foles finished 21 for 46 for 204 yards with zero touchdowns and two interceptions which he threw on his first two series.
Foles' first drive as an NFL starting quarterback ended with a pass tipped to DeAngelo Hall for an interception. On Foles' second drive, he threw into double coverage _ right to safety Brandon Meriweather.
Foles got the start because Michael Vick is recovering from a concussion suffered in last week's loss to Dallas. But the Eagles with Foles resembled the Eagles with Vick _ capable of moving the ball downfield, only to have all the hard work negated by turnovers, penalties and a patchwork offensive line.
Philadelphia entered the game with an NFC-worst minus-11 turnover differential; it's now minus-14. The Eagles committed nine penalties for 70 yards, including a pair of first-quarter false starts by right guard Jake Scott, who has been with the team less than a week. The only points came on field goals by Alex Henry.
As if things couldn't get worse for the Birds, star running back LeSean McCoy suffered a head injury in the final two minutes of the game and had to be taken off the field. During a post-game press conference, Andy Reid announced McCoy suffered a concussion.
While the Eagles rookie QB struggled, the rookie QB for the Redskins was nearly flawless. Robert Griffin III barely let the ball hit the ground Sunday. He was 14 for 15, throwing for 200 yards with four touchdown passes and zero interceptions. He also ran for 84 yards. The win snapped the Redskins' three-game losing streak as well as an eight-game losing streak to rookie quarterbacks that began in 2006.
